Open Science Lecture – The mRNA Vaccine, Theory and Technology
“The disease is not scary; however, the confusing and disordered response to it is scary.”
Today we hosted an online lecture via Zoom about the principles and technology of mRNA vaccines. Being the hottest and most controversial topic for more than a year now, COVID-19 seriously affects our daily lives and the most critical tool against the disease is spreading scientific knowledge to the public. Our teacher—Mr. James—introduces the principles of basic immunity, the role of vaccines in ideal cases, and the past, present, and predictions for future technological developments of mRNA: a major technological invention that rewrote biology textbooks. The disease is not scary; however, the confusing and disordered response to it is scary.
