“The river of history does not flow backward; indeed, it all eventually converges into the ocean of civilization.”
During this summer, we are at a Calico ghost town to exhibit the gold mining history of California. The small town witnessed the California gold rush from its boom to decline, as well as the divide and limited understanding between different races in that era. Today, with the rise of the tourism industry, the town is thriving once again. Although there are not as many residents as there was, and they no longer make their living from the gold rush, the racial divide is dissipating day by day. Different cultural exchanges are flourishing, and we believe that the river of history does not flow backward; indeed, it all eventually converges into the ocean of civilization.
